Referencing tool

Whilst you might not start thinking about including your citations in your EPQ assignment until you start writing up, it is vital to think about how your are going to store then at your research stage. If you record your resources in an organised manner from the outset, you will save time and frustration later on.

You might choose to save your sources in paper or electronic forms, but most likely it will be a combination of both. Some resources, such as journal articles or online documents, might be downloaded to be saved or printed. However, you may not be able to retain other materials, for example library books. You will explore a broad range of sources and you will need to keep details for bibliographic referencing or citation in your work.

Use this table to decide which details to record for the different sources.
