About Me

My name is Rachel Challen and I have been an eMentor and trainer for Pebble Learning since 2003 and a member of the Blended Learning team based at the University of Wolverhampton since 2006. Both of my roles involve the use and integration of the PebblePad ePortfolio system within existing curriculum. This covers the whole educational spectrum of schools, colleges, universities and professional bodies, each bringing their own challenges. I also act as a consultant for the Institute for Learning on Further Education practitioners use and uptake of the ePortfolio system REfLECT.

My academic background is as a qualified (PGCE) lecturer for the Further and Higher Education sector (2003), with a Business Administration degree (2000), a Post Graduate Certificate in Hospitality Management (2005) and I am currently studying for a Msc in Multimedia and eLearning at Huddersfield University, which is due to finish in 2009.

I feel it is important for me to achieve membership of CMALT for a number of reasons:

a) to take part in a process which actively encourages me to reflect on the work that I have been doing;

b) to achieve membership of this professional body which should hold me in good standing within the community in which I work;

c) to be able to use this reflection in order to help inform my role and career choices in the future.

Cavafy (1911)

This application is honest and fair. All work and evidence included is my own.
